| Among the many attractions Kent has to offer, Foxes Earth is 15 minutes
from Leeds Castle and no more than an hour from Hever, Bodiam and Dover Castle.
National Trust properties such as Chartwell and Scotney Castle and the Cathedral City
of Canterbury are less than an hour's drive. The historic Dockyards of Chatham with
it's Naval history and Museums are 40 minutes drive away. There are various golf
courses including Weald of Kent, and East Sutton.
For those of you who need retail therapy, Ashford (12 miles) provides the McArthur
Glen retail outlet, Dover (40 miles) the De Bradlei Wharf retail outlet and the
Bluewater shopping centre at Greenhithe just off the M25 at junction 2. Quaint old
world shops can be enjoyed in many places such as Tenterden, Cranbrook or the Cinque
Port of Rye.
For aircraft enthusiasts, Headcorn Aerodrome on the outskirts of Headcorn was used
during World War 2, as a Spitfire fighter base under the command of Wing Commander
Johnny Johnson. It is now used for private aviation where the public can enjoy
pleasure flights, parachuting, ballooning, microlite, and a Tiger Moth club.
London is just over an hour away by train from either Headcorn or Lenham Stations.
The gateway to the Continent is on our doorstep with the Channel Tunnel Folkestone,
30 minutes drive, Dover Ferry Terminal, 40 minutes drive and Ashford International
Station, 20 minutes drive, has fast access to both London and the Continent via the
Eurostar train.
